Mercy Thompson has been hailed as “a heroine who continues to grow and yet always remains true to herself.”* Now she’s back, and she’ll soon discover that when the fae stalk the human world, it’s the children who suffer...

Tensions between the fae and humans are coming to a head. And when coyote shapeshifter Mercy and her Alpha werewolf mate, Adam, are called upon to stop a rampaging troll, they find themselves with something that could be used to make the fae back down and forestall out-and-out war: a human child stolen long ago by the fae.

Defying the most powerful werewolf in the country, the humans, and the fae, Mercy, Adam, and their pack choose to protect the boy no matter what the cost. But who will protect them from a boy who is fire touched?

I never tire of Mercy Thompson books. I found Fire Touched by Patricia Briggs to be funnier than previous installments. I really enjoyed the added doses of humor and found myself laughing out loud from time to time. As usual, the bulk of the story centers around Mercy, Adam, and the Pack but I’m loving the addition of some of the latest characters. I think Aiden is a refreshing character that brought humor and childlike attitude to the mix and its interesting to see Underhill as more than just a place.

I like where the books are going. We’re learning so much more about the fae and getting a new take on their world. There are parts that make me question why they are there. Like our friend with 3 legs and the crane (sorry, don’t want to spoil anything) but I’m going to assume that he’ll become more important in later books just like Joel did when he joined the Pack in Night Broken.

That being said, Fire Touched will not disappoint and at over 350+ pages, you’ll be surprised how quickly the pages turn. As always, Briggs delivers an action packed story that keeps the reader guessing and eagerly craving more.
