Book Blurb: It’s the first day of Ninna’s job in the local animal shelter…and a dog is talking to her. Not just any dog…a fat, old, smart-alecky Basset Hound who says his name is Mosey.
She can’t quit, she needs this job. And then there’s the yummy vet who turns out to live across the street from her. He has a house big enough to hold a few animals – including the mouthy Mosey. With all this going on, she doesn’t have time to worry about the rash of break-ins and the sense of being watched. She’s too busy worrying that she’s nuts.
When Ninna agrees to dog sit for the cute vet from work, she sees it as a trial at being a pet owner and a way to build on her budding relationship with the vet. For Mosey, this weekend means time to get to know each other.
For the stalker who’s tracking Ninna’s movements, it means…opportunity.
My Review: Absolutely Adorable. I really enjoyed this novella, read it in a day and wished there was a bit more. I loved Nina’a character, kinda nutty in a funny way. I also loved that her male interest Stewart was a ginger. I have no idea why this pleased me so much but it did. Its not typical to have a red headed male be the “hot” character and he for sure was. It’s a Dog’s Life was witty and humorous and all in all just an enjoyable book to read. Its light and fun and perfect for on the beach or when you just want to read something uplifting. Dale Mayer once again shows me that she is so diverse in her writing and always leaves me wanting more but in a good way. My one and only criticism is that I wish I could see the story develop further. I would have liked a glimpse into what blossoms between Nina and Stewart instead of just the innuendo but aside from that I am very happy with this novella.
