Hunters of the supernatural, the Execution Underground are an elite group tasked with protecting humanity…but what happens when danger collides with desire?  Jace McCannon has one loyalty: the Execution Underground. Despite his mixed blood, his hatred for the werewolves he hunts is legendary. But in his search for a sadistic killer, Jace finds himself face-to-face with a stunningly seductive packmaster…and longing for a night with his mortal enemy. Nothing can stop Frankie Amato from defending her kind—or catching the rogue responsible for killing women in her territory. For that, this alpha female needs Jace's skills more than she wants to admit. But as their investigation exposes evil truths, need burns into a passion that dare not be fulfilled. For to do so will have deadly consequences for them both….

my thoughts I was sucked in right away. The book took off with a bang and didn’t let up. There was almost instant chemistry between Jace and Frankie and them fighting it made for an interesting story. I was able to fall in love with both characters. The story was fast paced, filled with twists and turns that kept me turning the page, and with a diverse cast of supernaturals that made me eager to learn more. The secondary characters were formed just as well as the main characters were which is always a difficult task. I appreciated that the author paid that extra attention to all of her elements and characters, setting us up to want to know more about not only the MCs but the side characters in future books as well. I got more than expected out of this book and am eager to see what happens in future installments. As a reader, we are taken on a truly fantastic and unique journey. A great paranormal romance without overdoing the romance elements. My only complaint is that the story did get a bit predictable from time to time but I was still enjoying the ride. 4 coffee cups about the author Kait Ballenger is a full-time paranormal romance author, wife, former professional bellydancer, and soon-to-be-professor.
